It is characterized by presenting a relief of complexly flawed and folded low-lying mountains, where erosive and karst denudative processes have joined to form a relief and hydrogeology markedly influenced by geological characteristics. It has very pure and well stratified Jurassic and Cretaceous limestones, as well as the presence in a large part of the cave of a complex network of rivers.
