Ciro Redondo García (Artemisa, December 9th, 1931 - Sierra Maestra, November 29th, 1957) was a Cuban revolutionary who participated in the attack toMoncada Garrison in 1953 and the guerrilla army of the July 26th Movement. He died in combat in 1957.
Childhood and Adolescence:
She was born on a farm in Quiebrahacha, Mariel, by then Pinar del Río province, on July 22nd, 1846. She was the daughter of Amelaide Dolley, a descendant of French immigrants from Jamaica and of Hilario Peñarredonda Ortiz, Spanish, a native of Santander and captain of militias (who was the son of José Peñarredonda, commander of one of the ships that took part in the battle of Trafalgar). The family also resides in the nearby city of Artemisa.
Carlos Benigno Baliño y López was born on February 13th, 1848 in Guanajay, an ancient city in western Cuba that belonged to Pinar del Río Province from 1879, currently in Artemisa Province. He studied book keeping, architecture, entered San Alejandro Painting Academy in 1868, but did not finish any of these studies. He collaborated with articles and poems in El Fénix, El Alacrán and La Crítica, of Guanajay. He moved to the United States after failing in his attempts to find work in Havana. He lived in Key West, Tampa, New York and New Orleans.
