The Primary Education in Artemisa province works to contribute to the integral formation of the schoolchild personality.Since the first grades,we are promoting the internalization of knowledge and valuing orientations; which are gradually reflected in their feelings, ways of thinking and behavior; according to the system of values ??and ideals of the Socialist Revolution. What constitutes a challenge for the “artemiseños”, those who work in the educational sector of Primary Education. It is compulsory and universal and its principle is to teach, attend and educate, equally, all the boys and girls included in the age group of 6 and 11 years; and guarantee their comprehensive training. 

Development moments in Primary Education.  

First Moment: Includes 1st and 2nd grade (from 6 to 7 years old).Second Moment: Includes 3rd and 4th grade (from 9 to 10 years old).Third Moment: Includes 5th and 6th grade (from 11 to 12 years old). 

Who are we? 

We are a methodological team led by a Head of Department. It is made up of 6 methodologists from different subjects.Our role is to advise methodological teams in the 11 municipalities of the province.We have a total of 55 municipal cadres and officials to assist: 3,186, managers and teachers. There are 2,060 with university level, distributed in 223 centers (35 of them areTurquino Plan). With a single educational level we have 194 centers. The mixed onesare in the following combinations:Primary-Basic Secondary 27, Primary-Basic Secondary 1 and Special-Primary- 1. We have an enrollment of 31454 students. There are 15238females and 16216 males.  

What do we do?                                                               

We prepare the structures that are subordinate to us in relation to: 

  1. The conception and execution of a methodological work system, which fosters a developing class that allows raising the quality of learning by using all the resources for the comprehensive training of children. 
  2. The implementation of the adaptations, based on school organization. 
  3. Application of scientific experiences using the generalization of master's theses, approved by the Academic Advisory Council in the 11 municipalities of the province. 
  4. The preparation of teachers, schoolchildren and family to face the ERCE 2019 exercise, for which 11 schools are used in each of the municipalities that serve as a reference in the work to raise the quality of learning. The provincial team works directly in the Carlos Rodríguez Careaga semi-boarding school in the main municipality. 
  5. The procedures to guarantee Vocational Training and Vocational Guidance, with an emphasis on pedagogical careers. 
  6. We assist all the processes for the preparation of the management structure and teachers from the Pedagogical School "Abel Santamaría Cuadrado", as well as the implementation of the improvement of the study plans in 1st year of the specialties:primary teachers and primary English teachers, and the creation of institutional projects, and groups that respond to the process of pedagogical reaffirmation. The profile of the graduate is advised. 
  7. Attention to the improvement of the teaching staff, previously agreed with Artemisa University and the training centers in the municipalities. The needs of our teaching staff have been takeninto account. 
  8. We participate in the preparation of study plans, programs, textbooks and workbooks for the improvement of Primary Education.There are 4 authors who belong to the provincial team and 1 department head to a municipal one.
  9. We strengthen the preparation of directors, heads of cycles, teaching secretaries and their reserves; so that they can feel able to implement and evaluate pedagogical processes; in order to achieve their suitability and stability. 
  10. Preventive and community work to confront social indiscipline, and ideological and political subversion. 
  11. The work carried out with art and cultural manifestations is assisted. We take advantage of the potential of each territory, institutions, specialists and the community environment. 

Where are we going? 

We work tirelessly for:                             

  • Raising the quality of methodological preparationand development is aimingat the consolidation of the developing class and the quality of learning; the application of the evaluation system; the use of audiovisual materials; the preparation of teachers, schoolchildren and family to face  the ERCE 2019 exercise; the formation of values; vocational and labor training with an emphasis on pedagogical careers.
  • Achieving the reduction in the number of repeating students, without objectives that have been fulfilled and evaluated as regular. A joint work is being carried out with CDOs and special schools as support centers. A work for diversity and with educational inclusion is intended.
  • Maintaining the permanence of the directors, teachers and other teaching personnel of the institutions.A careful attention to these personnel from the very educational centers is to be developed. In this way, we manage to strengthen our teaching coverage.
  • Strengthening preventive work by using the results of individual, group and family characterization; so that a reduction of incidents, complaints, and denunciations is achieved and an atmosphere of satisfaction is generated in a general sense.• Improving the Institutional and group projects and the implementation of the experiment to verify the changes in the study plan of Primary Education in the centers "Juan Pedro CarbóServiá" and the mixed center "Frank País" in Artemisa municipality, guided and assisted by the ICCP and the national team for Primary Education.
