I was visiting my friend Amaury Pérez's house when I discovered the treasure. On the terrace table, where he and his wife Petí usually sit to read and enthuse friends with the most sought-after literary or musical novelties, a book of encyclopedic dimensions rested, with a marker on the first pages: “New Universal History ”, Volume I, Ancient and medieval history.

Thirty years have passed since the Eduardo Abela salon was held for the first time, an event that began reduced to a very regionalized group of artists and for the first time directed towards graphic design, but which gradually expanded and became the Provincial Salon of Plastic Arts of Havana. Since 2011, the Eduardo Abela Provincial Visual Arts Center in San Antonio de los Baños has continued its history from the same headquarters, this time summoning artists from the Artemisa province.
