This Friday, May 28, the most recent video clip of Omara Portuondo was released, this time with the Guatemalan singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno. Bolero a la vida is the title of the second single that anticipates the new album of the Cuban singer and that has been recorded almost entirely during the current pandemic.
The song, created by Gaby in collaboration at a distance with Santiago Larramendi, is a resounding bolero, ideal for stirring up hope and new beginnings, a message of optimism in times so difficult for humanity.
The audiovisual, directed by Joseph Ros, was filmed in Havana and Los Angeles, and produced by the Cuban Institute of Music, the National Center for Popular Music, RTV Comercial and Ariel Jiménez Portuondo.
Starting with the phrase "you hit bottom and start over" the young, but well-known director, built a visual poetics where water is a metaphor, a unifying element and a reference to the origin of life. The representation of time, the moments of Omara with her granddaughter Rossio and the overwhelming beauty of the underwater planes are key to the effectiveness of this material.
The new album by the legendary Cuban singer reserves collaborations with artists such as Dionne Warwick, Raphael, Rubén Blades and Susana Baca, among others.
