The National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder) made public the decision to suspend all events and competitions to be held in Cuba - both national and international - until July 31 next.
The measure responds to the current epidemiological situation in the country, before which a strategy to cope with COVID-19 has been designed that includes the suspension of events of this type to avoid higher rates of contagion.
According to the official communication of the Inder, the meetings planned internally, in the case of athletics, together with some sporting actions of blank for the Tokyo Olympic Games, will be held behind closed doors.
The development of these preparatory spaces, subject to strict sanitary control regime, will not have the presence of the media.
