At the close of yesterday, August 3, a total of 685 patients are admitted, 222 suspects and 463 confirmed active.

On the day in Cuba for COVID-19, a total of 2,845 samples were taken for surveillance, 131 of which were positive. The country has accumulated 14,043,186 samples and 1,108,492 positives.

Of the total cases (131): 88 were contacts of confirmed cases, 7 with a source of infection abroad and 36 without a specified source of infection. Of the 131 diagnosed cases, 71 were female and 60 male.

Three asymptomatic cases (2.3%) are reported, accumulating a total of 147,305, which represents (13.3%) of those confirmed to date.

The 131 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (68), from 20 to 39 years old (28), from 40 to 59 years old (11) and 60 years old and over (24).

Of 1 million 108 thousand 492 patients diagnosed with the disease, 463 remain hospitalized, 451 of them with stable clinical evolution. There are 8,529 deaths (none on the day), a lethality of 0.77% vs 1.11% in the world and 1.63% in the Americas; two evacuated, 57 returned to their countries, on the day there were 93 discharges (38 less than those diagnosed), they accumulate 1 million 099 thousand 441 (99.2%). 12 confirmed patients are treated in Intensive Care, including 1 critical patient and 11 serious patients.
